Manhattan calls for Italian technology, and Comelit answers

The Italian technology implemented by Comelit Group SpA is making its way overseas for an important supply contract in the heart of New York City.
Stuyvesant Town-Cooper Village (PCVST) is a residential area of over 320,000 m2 situated in the district of Manhattan which, with its distinctive shape, is one of the most successful urbanisation schemes carried out in New York after the second World War.
Each of the 110 buildings in the complex is equipped with two digital Vandalcom external units (one for each main and back entrance), making a total of 220 external units.
Comelit also supplied all the internal units for the 11,250 apartments: Planux, a hands-free colour monitor with ‘Sensitive Touch‘ technology was chosen for the task.
“In terms of numbers, it is certainly the largest supply contract in Comelit’s history: work progress currently stands at 40% and we plan on completing all installations within a couple of years. Exclusive ViP technology makes up the lion’s share,” comments Marco Giugnetti, Overseas Sales Director.
