The restructuring of Battersea Power Station, partnered by Comelit.
THE largest brick-built building in Europe and, with its Art Deco interior décor, also one of the most
charming: Battersea power station, on the right-bank of the Thames, which was built in 1930 and
decommissioned in 1983. The subject of numerous stalled redevelopment plans, over the last few years its has been the focus of a major restructuring project, following the sale of the building to a Malaysian investment consortium, the Battersea Power Station Development Company. The project will create a luxury residential complex with over 800 apartments along with gym annexes, shops, services, health
spas and a theatre. Comelit has won a important contract to equip approximately 12 residential
buildings with ViP systems where 3one6 Sense and Vandalcom digital units have been installed
along with Icona monitors (a total of almost 900 units). In critical zones, such as the parking areas
and main entrances, external units have been installed to allow emergency calls and real-time
communication with the switchboard.
