ViP technology finds a home in Singapore

After Maplewoods, The Caribbean puts its trust in Comelit. The Caribbean, one of the most exclusive residential complexes in Singapore, situated in Keppel Bay, facing Sentosa Island, home of the Universal Studios theme park, which comprises 1000 apartments distributed among 40 buildings, has chosen Comelit ViP technology for the upgrade of its door entry system. Comelit South East Asia thus faced two challenges: firstly, to install a ViP system using the existing wiring; and secondly, to manage operation of the elevators, which give direct access to each apartment through the living room. clearly this was a situation that left no room for error, as the door entry system had to interface with the elevator control panel to guarantee both security and functionality. To do this, eighty 316Touch external units were commissioned, which allow visitors to call the desired apartment, wait for the resident to give consent by pressing the “key” button of the 7Stelle (which in effect releases the elevator) and display on the entrance panel which of the three elevators the visitor should use. Once in the elevator, the visitor can only select the floor of the apartment to which the call was originally made. All this is made possible through use of the ViP actuator art. 1443 and the SimpleKey SK9071 panels. “The Caribbean – explains Gianluca Ferretti, manager of the Singapore branch – is the second major ViP system to be installed in Singapore after Maplewoods. Both systems are in fact upgrades of pre-existing systems. This confirms that, where the existing cables allow, ViP represents a viable alternative to Simplebus, offering enhanced flexibility with high technological content. “The Caribbean was delivered on 30 September 2015, just 4 months after the start of the upgrade project. – concludes Ferretti – A big “thankyou” on behalf of Comelit South East Asia to all those who enabled us to complete this project in such a short time”.
